Nick Reiner Pleads Not Guilty to Parents Murders, After High Profile Lawyer Walks Away Sunday, May 17, 2026

Nick Reiner, 32 pleads not guilty to the December 2025 murders of his parents, director Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. His preliminary hearing has been postponed to Sept. 15, 2026, as the defense is still waiting for evidence. There is roughly 2 terabytes of discovery and autopsy results. Reiner is now represented by a public defender after his previous high-profile attorney Alan Jackson withdrew. Reports suggest Reiner is in a high-observation mental health unit in jail. Reiner has faced severe, long-term mental health challenges, including diagnoses of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, and was under a mental health conservatorship between 2020 and 2021. The murderders happened after Michele and Rob Reiner leave Conan’s party without their son after his off-putting behavior, like wearing a hoodie to a formal event and interrupting Bill Hader’s private conversation, leads to an embarrassing public row. Reiner, however, doesn’t make his own way to Brentwood. Instead, he pops up in Santa Monica at 4 a.m. Sunday morning, checking into The Pierside hotel. Desk staff don’t notice anything off about Reiner’s appearance, but the next morning, housekeepers find sheets covering the windows, and blood all over Reiner’s bedding and shower. The Reiners’ troubles with their middle child have been bubbling to a head for months. Shots ran out as Charlie Kirk sat on stage at a Utah Valley University event. The conservative activist reportedly hit near his neck and killed. According to reports, the shot was fired from the roof of a campus building about 200 yards away. Josh Duggar hires a new attorney as he tries for a fourth bid at freedom. Attorney Beau B. Brindley is arguing Duggar’s original trial was unfair. At an appeal hearing last month, Duggar appeared virtually, regarding an appeal that prosecutors argue was filed after the deadline. The court is deciding whether this appeal can proceed. The current motion alleges prosecutorial misconduct, misleading forensic evidence, and claims that evidence was withheld. His previous attempts to vacate the conviction, including appeals to the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, have been denied. The former reality television star was arrested by federal agents on child pornography charges, “knowingly received child pornography.” He also “knowingly possessed child pornography” during the same months by using the Internet to “download child sexual abuse material.” Duggar entered a rehabilitation center in 2015 after he confessed to inappropriately touching his younger sisters when he was a teenager. Duggar was also accused of creating a private, paid Ashley Madison account, a social site made for people wanting to cheat on their significant other. KILLER LAWYER ALEX MURDAUGH ESCAPES MURDER CONVICTION, CASE REVERSED Friday, May 15, 2026

Alex Murdaugh's murder conviction has been unanimously overturned by the South Carolina Supreme Court. A new trial has been ordered for the disgraced attorney privously convicted for the murders of his wife and son. The ruling was based on jury tampering accusations against court clerk Becky Hill, of improperly influencing jurors, depriving Murdaugh of a fair trial. The court also noted that the original trial judge erred by allowing extensive testimony on Murdaugh's financial crimes. The two consecutive life sentences against Murdaugh have been vacated. Prosecutors now intend to retry the murder case by January 2027. Murdaugh will remain in prison, as he is still serving roughly 67 years for numerous financial crimes and fraud, to which he plead guilty. Arrest Warrant for Kentucky Cheerleader, Laken Snelling, Newborn Found Dead in Closet: Court This Week Thursday, May 14, 2026

Laken Snelling, a former University of Kentucky student athlete, 22, stands accused of killing her newborn in her off-campus room. She has pleaded not guilty to a first-degree manslaughter charge after the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office determined the infant was born alive and died of “asphyxia by undetermined means”. She previously told police she did not believe the baby was breathing. Snelling has a pretrial hearing set for May 14, 2026, followed by a status hearing June 12. If convicted of first-degree manslaughter, she faces 10 to 20 years in prison. Laken Snelling is arrested after her infant is found dead in a trash bag inside the closet. Authorities allege Snelling gave birth in secret, wrapped her baby in a towel, placed him in a trash bag, and left him in her closet. According to an arrest report, Lexington police were called to a home on Park Avenue for an unresponsive infant on Wednesday. Police said they found a baby's body in a closet, wrapped in a towel inside a black trash bag. “IT’S PARTY TIME” PERP RECORDS 7-HOUR TORTURE MURDER OF NURSE Wednesday, May 13, 2026

When Katherine “Kat” Torbick's co-workers can’t reach the registered nurse, they call police. Schaumburg police force entry into Katherine’s home, and find her lying on the couch, dead,with clear signs of trauma. In the garage, investigators find Katherine’s ex-boyfriend, KevinMotykie tying a noose. Motykie, 56, is unsteady and slurs his words while admitting he tooklorazepam and hydrocodone. As Motykie is placed in handcuffs, officers discover a recordingdevice in his pocket with a 7-hour tape between the hours of 2:00 and 9:00 a.m. that morning. The seven-hour audio recording captures Motykie interrogating Katherine about infidelity, hitting her, and sex assaulting her while she begs him to stop. In the final four minutes of audio Motykie is heard strangling Katherine, repeatedly telling her to "think of somewhere happy." Motykie has a history of domestic violence allegations in three prior orders of protection. Infact, Motykie attacks Katherine just weeks prior to her murder. Motykie allegedly chokesKatherine, tries to gauge her eyes out, and threatens her at knifepoint. Katherine manages toescape to a neighbor’s home and call 911. Investigators document her injuries, and in avideotaped statement, Katherine says she’s afraid Motykie will eventually kill her. Police issuea warrant for Motykie’s arrest, but are unable to locate him. Kevin Motykie is now behind bars, charged with first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated sex assault. He's scheduled to appear in court again May 29th. D4vd back in court today for a status hearing in his murder case, as a judge decides if there's enough evidence to move toward trial. D4vd's preliminary hearing originally set for May 26, now moved to June 29. The defense requested more time to review a "mountain of evidence," with prosecutors stating they have already turned over more than 10 terabytes of digital data, but there could be as much as 40 terabytes. D4vd is charged with the first-degree murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Did Jeffrey Epstein leave a suicide note? His brother, Mark, says no. He doesn't believe the one page letter unsealed by a District Judge Kenneth Karas was written by Jeffrey. Theres only five sentences printed on a sheet of lined paper. It's been seven years since the accused sex trafficking suspect was found hanging in his cell. A former cellmate says he found it in a book in their shared cell. Nicholas Tartaglione has said he discovered the note during the approximate two week time period they shared a cell in July 2019. During that time, Epstein reportedly tried to hang himself. He initially claimed that Tartaglione had assaulted him. Epstein later told staff that he had no memory of the incident. It's been four years since father of three, Eric Richins, died from a fentanyl overdose. We now know his ingestion of the drug was planned by his wife Kori. Afterwards, she wrote a children’s book about grief, with her children, to help them cope. Kouri Richins' book isn't the only thing she's written. There's a six-page handwritten letter, "the walk the dog letter." Prosecutors say that in the letter, Richins is instructing he family how to lie about what happened the night her husband died. It's called the "walk the dog letter," since that phrase is written in big letters on the top. In it, Richins makes the claim that her husband Eric was addicted to drugs, that he would make frequent trips to Mexico to get pills, and that his death was an accidental overdose. The letter was written to Richins' mother, and it reportedly tells her to instruct Richins' brother to make the connection to Mexico and drugs The jury deliberated just under three hours before convicting Richins of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, forgery and two counts of insurance fraud.
